Morris Hospital Environmental Services Associate Recognized as Team Player

October 29, 2018 –Lifelong Morris resident Greg Lundy was selected as Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers Fire Starter of the Month for October. Over the past 22 years, Lundy has earned a reputation for being an extraordinarily reliable Environmental Services Associate who specializes in cleaning off site facilities on the afternoon shift.

“Greg is a team player in every sense of the word,” says Erin Kotowski, Ambulatory Services Operations Manager at Morris Hospital. “He has an excellent level of commitment, dedication and loyalty to Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers, his community, the patients and his peers. There is no job too big or too small for Greg. Many of our Healthcare Centers rely on Greg and consider him an integral part of the team.”

Morris Hospital Environmental Services Manager Cindy Stubler says Lundy is so successful in his role and appreciated by others because he is responsive every time others need something. She also says one of Lundy’s great traits is that he always wants to know whether he’s doing a good job and what he can do better.

“He’s engaged with his work, and he’s engaged with his customers,” says Stubler. “He brings enthusiasm to his job, and that’s important. That’s what builds engagement with other people.”

Adds Kotowski, “The best part of Greg is that he is intuitive to the needs of others. He knows when you are too busy to talk, when you need some extra help, or when you need kind words.”

For Lundy, having good relationships and doing a good job for Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers is what inspires him every day.

“I have such good relationships with all the staff, and they treat me so good,” says Lundy. “It’s very rewarding knowing that we’re an important part of the team. It takes all of us working together to make everything complete and to make the clinics shine. Morris Hospital has always been a really good place to work. I was born here, I work here, and I’ll probably take my last breath here.”

In early civilizations, fire starters were the individuals who had the important job of keeping the flame alive. With over 1,300 employees, Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers is the largest employer in Grundy County and winner of the Advisory Board Company’s 2017 Workplace of the Year award.
