Morris Hospital Welcomes Family Nurse Practitioner in Braidwood and Dwight

April 27, 2022, MORRIS, IL – Family Nurse Practitioner Amy Bohland is now seeing patients at Morris Hospital’s Healthcare Centers in Braidwood and Dwight.

As a family nurse practitioner, Bohland is qualified to serve as the primary health care provider for patients of all ages. She holds a Family Nurse Practitioner certificate, allowing her to order and interpret diagnostic tests, diagnose disease, provide appropriate treatments and prescribe medications. In her role, Bohland is committed to listening and building trust with her patients to foster an open, honest relationship.

“I strive to help my patients understand their health to empower them to be an active participant in their health,” Bohland says. “I want my patients to be able to discuss their concerns with me. I promise to listen without bias or judgment.”

Bohland has worked as a family nurse practitioner since 2019, and she has worked as a registered nurse since 2013. She received her master’s degree in nursing from Governor’s State University. Prior to that, she acquired her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Purdue University Calumet and her associate’s degree in nursing from Joliet Junior College.

At the Braidwood Healthcare Center of Morris Hospital, 389 E. Main Street, Braidwood, Bohland is working in the same office as Dr. Mark Passerman and Dr. Jennifer Thomas, both board-certified family medicine physicians. At the Dwight Healthcare Center of Morris Hospital, 101 S. Prairie Avenue, Dwight, she joins Dr. Passerman and Kathy Ulivi, also a certified family nurse practitioner.

Bohland is certified as a nurse practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. In 2020, she also earned certification in Skin and Wound Management from Wound Care Education Institute.

“I am a wound specialist and do love helping people heal wounds, not only with bandages, but with changes to their health that ultimately affects how we heal,” Bohland says.

Born and raised in Joliet, Bohland has lived her entire life in the area. She currently lives in Wilmington with her husband and two sons.
