Laboratory Services
The Laboratory at Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers is accredited by the Accreditation Committee of the College of American Pathologists (CAP). Being CAP accredited is like a gold seal of approval that indicates the Laboratory has achieved the highest standards of excellence and is committed to positively impacting patient care.
There are several laboratory sections at Morris Hospital, including chemistry, serology, hematology, cytology, microbiology, immunology, coagulation, histology, urinalysis, and the blood bank. Morris Hospital's Laboratory performs well over 860,000 tests each year for hospital patients, as well as independent physician offices and nursing homes.
Patients may come to any of these Morris Hospital locations for specimen collection. The Laboratory collection sites are closed on major holidays and may have modified hours on Christmas Eve & New Year's Eve:

Appointments are recommended for Laboratory testing and can be scheduled by calling Morris Hospital at 815-942-4105. (For Ottawa location, call 815-434-0811. For Coal City location, call 815-634-3500.) Walk-ins are welcome and should have their physician's order with them when they present for testing, along with a health plan identification card and photo ID. To assure accurate results, please follow fasting instructions if applicable.
