Morris Hospital Auxiliary Gala

53rd Anniversary Morris Hospital Auxiliary Gala

As many of you know, our Auxiliary loves hosting fun, entertaining and successful fundraising events. Nothing makes us feel more proud to see our community and employees come together to help raise funds that allow us to offer lifesaving programs and services like Rhythm of our Youth, a new Cardiac Cath Lab, Women’s Health, Patient Transportation and more. We are always left feeling inspired by the love and support shown.

Since the start of the COVID pandemic, we haven’t been able to host our annual in-door Auxiliary Gala, so you can imagine our excitement in preparing for our event this July 23 at Jennifer’s Garden. Yet as we continued to navigate the logistical planning of the event after dropping the invitations in the mail, we came to the conclusion that no matter how many infection prevention measures we put in place, it is not possible to guarantee the safety of Morris Hospital employees and community members who attend such a large, indoor public event. Timing was definitely not on our side.

With that said, I regret to announce that we have decided to postpone the July 23 Auxiliary Gala to February 2023 (our regularly scheduled time for the event). I am so sorry for any inconvenience and confusion this postponement may cause.

Despite the postponement of the Gala, we will be forging ahead with fundraising initiatives to make a specialized Pediatric Integrated Behavioral Health Program at Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers a reality. Too many of our pediatric patients need this specialized care and we WILL be here for them. I hope you will be able to find a way to join us in our future fundraising initiatives for this. More information coming soon!

In a world full of changing plans, keeping our friends and family safe, and being there for each other when things seem uncertain, I do find comfort knowing that our community is dedicated, caring, loving and beyond generous. It’s more than we could ever ask for. If you have questions or would like to speak with me directly, please email me ( or call my office (815.705.7021).

Thank you for your support and stay well.
