Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers is seeking a Family Practice physician to work out of an already established medical practice that has a very thankful patient population across the rural communities of Braidwood, Dwight, Morris, Mazon and several others in our service area.  This is a golden opportunity for a new or experienced Family Practice physician where you’d assume a patient panel that’s still growing and have support from your other FP/IM, Peds and Med-Peds colleagues.  Be part of a highly-reputable practice who’s proud to offer a small town atmosphere where patients are treated like family and continue to return for all of their healthcare needs.

  • Practice out-patient only out of Dwight and Braidwood, IL offices. Services onsite for patients include EKGs, lab draws (pick-up occurs 2-3x/day, adult/pediatric immunizations, diabetic & BP screening, as well as in-office Pro-Time/INR, HA1C testing.  Mon-Fri clinic schedule is flexible, e.g. either 4-, 4.5 or 5-day work week.
  • See all ages with a patient population of about 70% adults/30% peds, provide acute and preventative care, health risk assessments, routine check-ups, women’s health (no OB), ability to perform in-clinic procedures, if desired as well.
  • 24/7 in-house Adult Hospitalist Program is well-established and successful for inpatients and physicians since inception, circa 2009. They take care of 90% of inpatients.  Option to round on adult or pediatric inpatients, but not required
  • Work with an outstanding collegial group who have a phenomenal reputation, which includes working with two other Family Practice physicians and their FNP, Interventional Cardiologist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (embedded in primary-care offices), plus 8 Pediatric/Med-Peds physicians who take care of your pediatric in-patients.
  • You have a true voice in decision-making here! Be part of our active medical staff committees, physician advisory councils and engaging healthcare center meetings.
  • Plus, gain great learning experiences – teaching opportunities available with students.

About the Hospital:

  • Family Birthing Suite includes dedicated OR, 8 LDRP rooms & 4 NST/Triage rooms.  480 births per year. Dedicated 2East Peds Wing where all nurses are PALS trained – low pediatric wing census (0.78/day).  We have a tertiary affiliation with Loyola University Medical Center for mothers and babies who require an even higher level of care as we are a Level II Perinatal Care Provider with strong referral relationships with MFM at Loyola.
  • We received a 5-star rating from CMS for Overall Hospital Quality in 2021, one of only 455 nationwide to receive this esteemed honor! Something we meet that larger hospital systems around us can’t beat! Plus, we’re rated the #1 Hospital in the greater area!
  • Work with a Level II Trauma Center that’s accredited by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons as a Community Cancer Program. We also have a Sleep Center, long-standing phenomenal ED & Radiology departments (including IR & Breast Health Nurse Navigator), ENT, Peds, Ob/Gyn, 4 Urgent Care centers, our own blood bank, 3 pathologists, plus PT/OT/SLP Rehabilitation Services, pain management, wound care.  We are Primary Stroke Certified (give TPA in ED – we keep Stroke patients), and a multitude of other great sub-specialty consults available, e.g. 24/7 STEMI Call 1:3, GI, GS, Colo-Rectal, Ortho/Back/Podiatry, ID, RadOnc, Hem/Onc, Neph (we do inpatient Dialysis here), Rheum, Endo, Tele-Psych, open ICU with Pulm consults available to name a few.
  • We are a non-for-profit health system that’s a train in motion! Since 03/18, the hospital began a $74 million master facility plan that included expanding our ED which opened early March 2020 (17 private rooms with state-of-the-art features), newly remodeled Cardiac/EMG Diagnostics, renovated infusion therapy and imaging departments (new women’s center!) and streamlined outpatient lab services.  Next we will be modernizing our internal OR/GI and post-surgical rooms while updating our patient registration process.
