Morris Hospital introduces new financial chief

April 20, 2018, MORRIS, IL – Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers has selected Mary Lou Tate as its new Chief Financial Officer, succeeding Dean Marketti who retired last year. Tate brings 15 years’ experience in healthcare finance leadership, most recently having served as Director of Finance at HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, a 289-bed hospital in Belleville, IL.

During her tenure with St. Elizabeth, Tate managed and directed process improvement projects that positively affected revenue cycle and supply chain, facilitated the re-launch of cost accounting software, and acted as a key team member for a $300 million new hospital build-out, transition and move.

Tate holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, and a Master’s degree in Accounting from Boise State University. She also has experience as a senior financial analyst at Mercy Medical Center in Nampa, Idaho, CFO and interim CEO at Walter Knox Memorial Hospital in Emmett, Idaho, and controller at Saint Alphonsus Medical Center in Ontario, Oregon.

Serving patients at 25 locations in 11 communities, Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers includes the 89-bed Morris Hospital, as well as physician offices in Braidwood, Channahon, Dwight, Gardner, Marseilles, Mazon, Minooka, Morris, Newark, Ottawa and Yorkville. Through the services of over 1,700 healthcare professionals, physicians and volunteers, Morris Hospital provides lifesaving cardiac intervention with angioplasty and stents, a radiation therapy center for cancer patients, a state-of-the-art intensive care unit, and immediate care services at three locations. Morris Hospital is a Level II trauma center, a Level II perinatal care provider with an intermediate care nursery, pediatric department approved for pediatrics, and a Primary Stroke Center.
