Morris Hospital Honors Employees for Achieving Milestones in Service
November 20, 2017, Morris, IL – Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers recently honored 155 employees for achieving milestones in their years of service during the annual employee recognition milestone dinner held at Jennifer’s Garden in Morris.
This year’s top honorees celebrating 40 years of service were Cathy Barry, licensed practical nurse on 2 East; Marianne McLuckie, case manager; Gayle Scanavino, registered nurse in Ambulatory Care; and Laurie Wilkinson, registered nurse in the Intensive Care Unit.
Kim Landers, Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nurse Executive at Morris Hospital, welcomed the honorees and their guests and introduced Board Chairman Rodney Engstrom who gave congratulatory remarks on behalf of the Board. Julie Weimer, a registered nurse on 2 South and 10 year honoree, gave the invocation.
“This is one of those occasions where we are reminded that we are truly blessed to have such dedicated and loyal employees who make Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers all that it is today,” said Mark Steadham, President & CEO of Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers. “Our long-term employees bring a wealth of knowledge to work every single day that helps make Morris Hospital an excellent place for our family and friends to receive care.”
“What they do made a difference for the adult son of a patient in Ambulatory Care who was so pleased with his father’s care, he sent us a note saying, ‘The three nurses who worked with my dad were the most pleasant, professional, thoughtful, and caring people I have ever experienced in an otherwise stressful situation.’
“What our staff does matters to the patient who sent us a note stating, ‘I went in today for a bunch of outpatient tests, and I just want to say the hospital staff was incredible. They were punctual, fast, and you can feel the empathy they have for their patients. The best care I’ve ever received from a hospital.’
“I sincerely hope that our long term employees keep doing what they do for Morris Hospital for many more years, because it matters.”
At dinner, Morris Hospital Vice President of Human Resources Erin Murphy-Frobish announced the names of the honorees and each was asked to stand as their name was called. Each honoree received a long stem rose and a monetary gift based on their years of service.
