Morris Hospital Cardiologist Speaks About Heart Health Breakthroughs

January 24, 2020, MORRIS, IL – In recognition of American Heart Month, Dr. Mary Gordon, board certified cardiologist, will talk about heart health breakthroughs at a free program on Thursday, February 6, from 6-7 p.m. in conference rooms 2 & 3 on the lower level at Morris Hospital, 150 W. High Street, Morris.

With nearly half of all U.S. adults diagnosed with some type of cardiovascular disease, heart health should always be top of mind for everyone. During the program, Dr. Gordon will focus on the most significant advances in heart health prevention and treatment, including new medications for fighting heart disease in novel ways, less invasive procedures that challenge traditional heart surgeries, advances in heart failure management, continued research in what truly prevents heart disease, and the latest on heart disease in women.

Dr. Gordon joined the Morris Hospital Cardiovascular Specialists practice in April 2018 after practicing in Joliet and Aurora for 13 years. She received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Midwestern University, Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Olympia Fields, Ill., where she also completed a family medicine internship, internal medicine residency and general cardiology fellowship. Dr. Gordon sees patients at office locations in Channahon, Morris and Ottawa.
