Morris Hospital Auxiliary Announces Virtual Golf Tournament to Support Patient Transportation and Lifeline® Programs
September 10, 2021, MORRIS, IL – Due to the increased COVID incidence in the community, the Morris Hospital Auxiliary has changed its 26th Annual Golf Tournament that was originally scheduled for September 20 to an all virtual event running from September 20-October 22. Proceeds support Patient Transportation and Lifeline®, two very important Morris Hospital programs that serve a vital role in the community.
The Morris Hospital Auxiliary has been supporting the Morris Hospital Patient Transportation and Lifeline® programs through its annual golf outing for more than two decades. The Patient Transportation program provides community members free rides to medical appointments, while Lifeline® is an emergency response system that provides instant access to emergency assistance and peace-of-mind for individuals who live alone.
Those participating in the Morris Hospital Auxiliary Virtual Golf Tournament can play golf at a course of their choice from September 20-October 22. Golfers will keep track of their own score and then take a picture with their scorecard and submit it electronically to the Morris Hospital Auxiliary office or in-person to the Morris Country Club Pro Shop if playing at Morris Country Club or The Creek.
The cost to enter the 18-hole virtual tournament is $50 per person and does not include greens fees at the golf course chosen by the participant. While golfers may play at any course of their choosing, as Golf Course Sponsors of the event, Morris Country Club and The Creek in Morris are extending non-members the opportunity to play on either course for a $50 greens fee, which includes a cart. Weekends are excluded at the Morris Country Club. Participants should mention the Morris Hospital Virtual Golf Tournament when scheduling tee times.
The golfer with the best score will receive a $500 cash prize, second place is $250, and third place is $100. Golf results and winners will be posted online on October 25.
Anyone 18 years of age or older can support the event by entering a chance to win a $1,000 cash prize in the Golf Ball Raffle. Chances are $20 for once chance, $50 for three chances, or $100 for seven chances. Outright donations to the Patient Transportation and Lifeline programs are also accepted.
