Morris Hospital Announces Results of Corn Fest 5K Fun Run

October 1, 2018, MORRIS, Ill. –  Three hundred thirty-four runners and walkers completed the Morris Hospital Corn Fest 5K Fun Run on September 29 through the neighborhoods surrounding Morris Elementary School.  An additional 60 children ages 8 and under completed the Tot Trot. It was the 17th year Morris Hospital sponsored the event in conjunction with the Grundy County Corn Festival.

Ray Heriaud, 43, Sheridan, was the first place overall male winner with a time of 18:45.6. Lindsay Schultz, 37, Frankfort, was the first place overall female winner with a time of 20.19.7.

The second place overall male and female winners were Patrick O’Connell, 23, Channahon, with a time of 18:49.0 and Lindsey Schmidt, 20, Morris, with a time of 21:30.1. Rick Dudley, 47, Morris finished third among the males with a time of 19:10.3. Erica Duvick, 32, Morris, was the third place overall female winner with a time of 21:49.4.

“We love this event because it gets people out doing something active and healthy during Corn Fest, from the toddlers who compete in our Tot Trot, to the seniors who complete the entire 3-mile course,” says Leigh Anne Hall, Wellness Manager at Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers. “Each person participating has their own unique story to tell about why they came and what they hoped to accomplish. We’re proud of every one of them.”

In the 5K Fun Run Girls 11 and under category, Tessa Cryder, Morris, took first place with a time of 30:35.8, followed by Leah Martin, Morris, 30:36.4, second place, and Lilly Pfeifer, Mazon, 35:52.2, third place. Winners of the Boys 11 and under category were Kevin Einhaus, Seneca, 21:36.2, first place; Pete Wilcox, Marseilles, 26:22.8, second place; and Brady Sheedy, Verona, 39:55.1, third place.

Ella McDonnell, Morris, was the first place winner and only participant in the Girls 12 to 14 category with a time of 22:55.5. Winners of the Boys 12 to 14 category were Cameron Fawley, Minooka, first place with a time of 23:40.9, followed by J.P. Wilcox, Marseilles, 24:23.9, second place, and Hunter Coons, Morris, 26:21.5, third place.

Maggie Wilcox, Marseilles, took first place winner in the Female 15 to 19 category with a time of 34:37.3, followed by Jade Provance, Morris, 37:33.4, second place; and Skyler Wickiser, Coal City, 37:34.1, third place. Winners of the Male 15 to 19 category were Nathan Parsley, Channahon, first place with a time of 20:41.5; Jacob Dallen, Sandwich, 23:32.6, second place; and Dylan Callahan, Morris, 23:39.9, third place.

Winners of the Female 20 to 24 category were Sarah Gutz, Streator, first place with a time of 27:11.7; Katie Corrigan, Morris, 28:23.1, second place; and Taylor Hendricks, Morris, 28:52.4, third place. Winners of the Male 20 to 24 category were John Struck, Morris, first place with a time of 20:15.8; Ryan Ties, Morris, 22:08.9, second place; and Scott Anderson, Mazon, 53:27.1, third place.

Winners of the Female 25 to 29 category were Megan Davis, Channahon, first place with a time of 24:12.8; Taylor Harper, Bradley, 25:44.2, second place; and Rachel Strange, Morris, 29:45.0, third place. Winners of the Male 25-29 category were Nick Ties, Aurora, first place with a time of 19:55.0; Chris Culjan, Ottawa, 21:00.6, second place; and Jonathan Punke, Morris, 23:05.1, third place.

Winners of the Female 30 to 34 category were Sarah Gunderson, Ottawa, first place with a time of 25:23.7; Amber Berg, Morris, 27:27.4, second place; and Cassandra Siedentop, Gardner, 27:42.8, third place.  Winners of the Male 30 to 34 category were Erik Stein, Plainfield, first place with a time of 21:39.6; Matthew Harrison, Morris, 23:18.4, second place; and Justin Ritz, Morris, 27:19.1, third place.

Winners of the Female 35 to 39 category were Jennifer Williams, Morris, first place with a time of 23:52.7; Lisa Schweisberger, Minooka, 24:19.9, second place; and Elizabeth Cacello, South Wilmington, 25:28.9, third place.  Winners of the Male 35 to 39 category were Nick Jensen, Morris, first place with a time of 23:20.0; Ryan Liebermann, Ottawa, 24:30.5, second place; and Mark Johnson, Seneca, 24:38.5, third place.

Winners of the Female 40 to 44 category were Dottie Laudeman, Morris, first place with a time of 25:13.5; Emily Edman, Joliet, 25:59.5, second place; and Laura Passerman, Morris, 28:01.9, third place. Winners of the Male 40 to 44 category were Matt MacAk, Joliet, first place with a time of 20:29.4; Matthew Boyd, Morris, 21:02.7, second place; and Darin Shoup, Frankfort, 23:47.1 third place.

Winners of the Female 45 to 49 category were Charlene Hamann, Streator, with a time of 27:40.4; Valery Denby, Bradley, 31:25.0, second place; and Janis Mederich, Sugar Grove, 34:21.1, third place. Winners of the Male 45 to 49 category were Chris Kott, Morris, first place with a time of 20:47.8, and Neil Mederich, Sugar Grove, 25:19.9, second place; and Nicholas Rossi, Morris, 25:48.5, third place.

Winners of the Female 50 to 54 category were Monica Cameron, Seneca, first place with a time of 25:24.7; Colleen Cronin, Custer Park, 26:00.5 second place; and Terri Jacob, Ottawa, 26:15.6, third place. Winners of the Male 50 to 54 category Javier Martinez, Minooka, first place with a time of 19:26.4; Mike Manietta, Diamond, 25:36.1, second place; and Lupe Salazar, Diamond, 27:17.2, third place.

Winners of the Female 55 to 59 category were Judy Spicer, Seneca, first place with a time of 25:21.9; Karen Sapsford, Morris, 30:30.3, second place; and Sherrie Granger, Morris, 30:58.6, third place.  Winners of the Male 55 to 59 category were Patrick Koerner, Bourbonnais, first place with a time of 22:07.8; George Graff, Morris, 23:35.1, second place; and Paul Rochnowski, Braidwood, 24:48.6 third place.

Winners of the Female 60 to 64 category were Jo Ann Teele, Morris, first place with a time of 31:09.0; Kris Farber, Morris, 35:00.3, second place; and Denise Hauge, Morris, 35:25.9, third place. Winners of the Male 60 to 64 category were Brian Tatroe, Coal City, first place with a time of 21:34.9; Robert Marsaglia, Morris, 28:15.4, second place; and William Leopold, Coal City, 33:30.7, third place.

Winners of the Female 65 to 69 category were Darcy Welsh, Channahon, first place with a time of 40:09.1; Rudell Hickey, Morris, 40:14.1, second place; and Susan Stangland, Morris, 44:28.2, third place. Winners of the Male 65 to 69 category Steve Hartzell, Pontiac, first place with a time of 24:59.5; Stephen Stangland, Morris, 26:41.4, second place; and Raymond Smith, Morris, 29:27.0, third place.

Winners of the Female 70-74 category were Judith Kuntz, Morris, first place with a time of 44:01.1; D’Nelle Lyons, Richardson, Texas, 55:00.1, second place; and Pamela Wrobel, Morris, 56:27.2, third place. Winners of the Male 70-74 category were Lance Randall, Creve Coeur, Illinois, first place with a time of 29:38.7, and David Ayers, Fenton, Michigan, 51:05.1, second place.

In the Female 75 and Over category, Nancy Bauer, Morris, took first place with a time of 35:55.6. Ruth O’Hara, Morris, 49:31.2, was second, and Kaye Hunsinger, Morris, 49:41.1, was third. In the Male 75 and Over category, Gary Kuntz, Morris, took first place with a time of 40:22.1.
