October 6, 2021, MORRIS, IL – A longtime local orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine physician has joined the Morris Hospital Orthopedics & Sports Medicine practice, allowing for the expansion of orthopedic services to the Diamond-Coal City area.

Dr. Stephen Treacy is uniting with Dr. Mir Ali, Dr. Raymond Meyer, Dr. Kyle Pearson, Dr. Keith Rezin and Dr. Robert Williams to further strengthen the team that affiliated with Morris Hospital this past June. Dr. Treacy will see patients at the Morris Hospital Orthopedics & Sports Medicine offices at 1051 W. U.S. Route 6 in Morris, 1310 Houbolt Road in Joliet, and at the Morris Hospital Diamond-Coal City Campus, 1450 E. Division St., in Diamond. The practice also has an office at 1306 Gemini Circle, Suite 2, in Ottawa.

Board certified in both orthopedic surgery and sports medicine, Dr. Treacy first joined the Medical Staff at Morris Hospital in 1996. He treats patients with injuries, fractures and conditions of the upper and lower extremities, including the knee, shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand, and specializes in minimally invasive arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgery.

“I enjoy working in and caring for residents of the greater Grundy County area, an opportunity that I have embraced the majority of the past 26 years,” Dr. Treacy says, noting that he briefly moved out of state before returning to the area in 2014. “Joining Morris Hospital Orthopedics & Sports Medicine allows me to continue to serve the people of our area, working in conjunction with an excellent established medical staff and hospital facility.”

Born and raised in Naperville, Dr. Treacy received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Illinois School of Medicine in Chicago. He completed an orthopedic surgery residency and general surgery internship at Tulane University School of Medicine and Affiliated Hospitals in New Orleans and is fellowship trained, having studied sports medicine at the Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center in Jackson, Mississippi. He is married and has three children.
