Joliet General Surgeon Announces Move to Morris Hospital
September 2, 2025 – After practicing in the Joliet area for 16 years, General and Minimally Invasive Surgeon Dr. Brian Winkleman has joined the medical staff at Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers.
Dr. Winkleman’s new office is located at the Channahon Healthcare Center of Morris Hospital, 25259 Reed Street, Channahon. He is now doing surgeries and procedures exclusively at Morris Hospital.
A graduate of Indiana University School of Medicine, Dr. Winkleman completed a residency in general surgery and a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, OH. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery.
Dr. Winkleman specializes in laparoscopic and robotic procedures including gallbladder removal, hernia repair, small bowel and colon surgery, appendix removal, and excision of skin lesions and soft tissue tumors. He also performs upper endoscopy and colonoscopy.
Since early 2023, Morris Hospital has completed a $13.2 million renovation of its perioperative services on the hospital main campus located at 150 W. High Street in Morris. The renovations include new state-of-the-art operating rooms, along with two new endoscopy rooms for gastrointestinal and bronchoscopy procedures, a dedicated room for minor procedures, five additional same day surgery rooms where patients begin and end their same day surgery experience, and a number of patient and family focused amenities.
