Family Nurse Practitioner joins Morris, Mazon healthcare centers
July 24, 2018, MORRIS, IL – Family Nurse Practitioner Elizabeth Cacello has joined Morris Hospital’s healthcare centers in Morris and Mazon.
Cacello is teaming up with Dr. Charles Comfort, internal medicine, and Courtney Kelly, physician assistant, internal medicine, as the practice’s primary care providers. They care for patients at the Morris Healthcare Center of Morris Hospital, 1345 N. Edwards St., Morris, and at the Mazon Healthcare Center of Morris Hospital, 522 Depot St., Mazon.
As a family nurse practitioner, Cacello is qualified to serve as the primary health care provider for patients of all ages. She holds a Family Nurse Practitioner certificate, allowing her to order and interpret diagnostic tests, diagnose disease, provide appropriate treatments, and prescribe medications.
A native of Gardner, Cacello has deep roots with Morris Hospital. Not only was she born at Morris Hospital, her mother, Sue Esparza, worked at the hospital for 23 years as a certified nursing assistant. This inspired Cacello to pursue a career in healthcare, acquiring her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing and her Family Nurse Practitioner certificate from the University of St. Francis in Joliet.
Cacello most recently worked for over two years as a nurse practitioner in Morris Hospital’s Immediate Care Centers. She previously worked as registered nurse at Morris Hospital for 10 years, serving in immediate care and in-patient settings. She also was an emergency medical technician, field RN and firefighter with the Gardner Fire Department.
