DAISY Award Nomination

Patients & Visitors > DAISY Award Nomination

The DAISY Award celebrates the extraordinary compassionate and skillful care given by nurses around the world. Nurses every day go above and beyond to not only provide patients and families with excellence in clinical care but also compassion. Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers is proud to recognize nurses with this honor.

Each DAISY Award honoree is recognized at a ceremony in their unit. They will receive a certificate, a DAISY Award pin, hand carved stone sculpture titled “A Healer’s Touch”, and a unit celebration with cinnamon rolls.

 J. Patrick Barnes’ family established the DAISY Foundation in 1999. Patrick died of complications of an auto-immune disease at the age of 33. DAISY stands for Diseases Attacking the Immune System. Patrick’s family was amazed by the care and compassion of his nurses while he was in the hospital. That’s why the DAISY Award recognizes extraordinary nurses who make an enormous difference in the lives of so many.

The DAISY Award at Morris Hospital is made possible through generous donors to the Morris Hospital Auxiliary and Foundation.
