Afreen Hyder, M.D., Gastroenterologist

As a gastroenterologist, Dr. Afreen Hyder specializes in diagnosing, treating, and managing conditions affecting the digestive system. Dr. Hyder performs various GI procedures such as upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, and more.

A graduate of NTR University- Deccan College of Medical Sciences in Hyderabad, India, Dr. Hyder comes to Morris Hospital Gastroenterology with over 20 years of experience. She completed an internal medicine residency at Wayne State University in Detroit, where she also completed a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology.

A citizen of the United States, Dr. Hyder’s career spans both public and private healthcare systems in the United States and internationally. Throughout her career, she has practiced in several states including Illinois, Tennessee, and Wisconsin and has held positions at renowned institutions such as Mayo Clinic Health System. She is also a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and American Gastroenterology Association.

Dr. Hyder believes that exceptional patient care is possible through open and honest communication with her patients and believes that positive healthcare outcomes are achieved through teamwork between the patient and provider.

Before your appointment, please go to our forms center and download and complete our Healthcare Centers – General Patient Registration Form before coming in for your office visit.

Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your appointment time to complete registration and a health questionnaire. If you are a new patient, please arrive 30 minutes ahead of your scheduled appointment time.

When you come for your appointments, please remember to bring the following:

  • Driver’s License or a valid ID
  • Insurance information
  • Referral Letter (if required)
  • Medical records from previous hospitals and providers including lab results, X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, etc., along with any other relevant information about your medical history
  • List of medications (if any)
