Services Provided by Dr. Reyes:
As a Pathologist, Dr. Reyes studies body fluids and tissues in the Laboratory at Morris Hospital. His important work helps care for patients every day by providing physicians the information needed to ensure appropriate patient care. Dr. Reyes has a special interest in fine-needle aspiration cytology, dermatopathology, and cancer diagnosis.
We gave Dr. Reyes a selection of questions. Here are the ones he chose, along with his answers:
What or who influenced you to become a physician?
Dr. Reyes: My mom, who was very ambitious, loving and supportive. Before my 15th birthday, when I was fresh from high school, she enrolled me in pre-medicine without my knowledge.
Where did you grow up?
Dr. Reyes: In Santa Cruz, Manila, Philippines.
Where is the farthest you have been from home?
Dr. Reyes: Many places, including he Pyramids of Giza, via dolorosa of Jerusalem, the stairway from the caldera of Santorini, and the Grand Bazaar of Istanbul.
What is your favorite sport to watch?
Dr. Reyes: I became interested in watching football after becoming a practicing physician in Chicago.
Who was your favorite celebrity as a child?
Dr. Reyes: Deborah Kerr. (Scottish film and television actress who starred opposite Cary Grant in "An Affair to Remember.")
What type of pets do you have?
Dr. Reyes: Chester is a very emotional mutt of German Shepherd and Basset Hound mixture.
What's the most important advice you have for patients?
Dr. Reyes: Always remember, there are treatable and curable cancers.
