Morris Hospital Hosts Game Show Style Heart Health Event

LISTEN TO OUR RADIO COMMERCIAL!

February 8, 2010, MORRIS, IL –  Move over Regis and Meredith! Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers is making plans for its own version of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” with “Who Wants to Be Heart Wise,” scheduled for Thursday, February 25 from 6-8 p.m. at First Christian Church in Morris.

The event is being held in conjunction with American Heart Month and will provide heart health education in a fun and entertaining format.

Four contestants selected from the audience will have a chance to sit in the hot seat and answer a series of 10 multiple choice questions, all having to do with the heart. Some are health related, while others have to do with music and romance.

Each time they answer a question correctly, contestants will win a prize, with the prize value increasing as the questions get more difficult. Contestants who make it all the way through the highest level will walk away with $175 in Grundy County Chamber of Commerce gift certificates, along with a number of other prizes.

Just like the television version of the game, each contestant will have three lifelines to help them along the way: 50/50, audience participation, and a celebrity panel featuring Kevin Schramm from WCSJ radio, Joan Sereno from Grundy Hospice, and Dr. Sean Atchison from the Morris Hospital Emergency Department.

“Our main goal, of course, is to reduce the risk of heart disease by providing education that will lead to healthier lifestyles,” says Leigh Anne Hall, Wellness Manager at Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers. “But instead of doing this by way of lecture, we’re going to have a little fun.”

There’s also plenty in store for those who aren’t selected as contestants. Blood pressure screenings will be available from 5:30-6 p.m., and cardiologists from Morris Hospital will be on hand to answer questions in a Q&A style format. Heart healthy refreshments will be provided.

Morris Hospital is also using the evening as an opportunity to honor individuals from Morris Fire and Police Departments for their extraordinary lifesaving measures.

Reservations are just $5 per person and can be made by clicking here or calling 815-942-2932, ext. 7364.
