We are committed to providing breastfeeding moms with all the education and support they need to have a successful breastfeeding experience. This class focuses on the benefits of breastfeeding, pumping, and going back to work. Breastfeeding moms will also get advice to help solve problems related to breastfeeding. The class is taught by a certified lactation consultant. Nursing mothers are welcome to bring their infants.

This fun class is for children ages 3-7 who are preparing to welcome a new brother or sister. Siblings-to-be will learn how a newborn baby looks and acts and what happens while mom and baby are in the hospital. Activities, discussion and a tour of the birthing suites helps them feel a part of the experience. Each child should bring a doll or stuffed animal.

This class consists of five week night sessions that focus more deeply on the knowledge, skills and support needed to give birth with confidence. Topics include the process of labor, comfort measures, relaxation skills, common medical interventions, pain management options, vaginal and cesarean birth, postpartum, newborn care, breastfeeding, and a tour of the Family Birthing Suites.

This condensed class covers the basics of labor, birth and postpartum care. A tour of the Family Birthing Suites is optional.

Intended for licensed and certified healthcare professionals, this course teaches the skills of CPR for victims of all ages, use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction.

Participants will learn the basic techniques of adult, child and infant CPR and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), as well as first aid for choking.

Presented by a registered nurse, dietitian or pharmacist, this workshop covers specific techniques for managing diabetes and controlling the disease process and is intended for individuals who are newly diagnosed with diabetes, as well as those who have had the disease for several years. Spanish translation is available upon request.

Coping with diabetes is easier if you have a network. Our interactive Diabetes Support Group provides a relaxed environment where people with diabetes can learn from others who understand the unique challenges and emotions they're experiencing. The support group can be helpful for the newly diagnosed, as well as those who have been managing diabetes for years.

Give the gift of life by donating blood. Donors must be at least 17 years old or 16 with written parental permission, weigh at least 110 pounds, be symptom free of cold, flu and allergies, and be in general good health.

This class is ideal for increasing physical performance and retaining energy and flexibility. It's a great way to get cardiovascular and bone strengthening benefits while enjoying music and having fun!

Designed to enhance overall senior fitness, this class is a balanced fitness program that includes a combination of cardio-respiratory, muscle, endurance and flexibility training.

A hernia occurs when part of an internal organ bulges through a weak area of muscle, most often in the abdomen. Symptoms may include a noticeable bulge in the groin or abdomen, along with pain while lifting, bending over, or coughing. Surgical repair is typically recommended to avoid life-threatening complications. Join Dr. Kristopher Oswalt, General Surgeon, to learn more about the causes and various types of hernias, symptoms, and treatment options including traditional and laparoscopic, or minimally invasive surgery.

Urinary problems in men can be a sign of a prostate condition. Join urologist Luke Cho, M.D., to learn more about prostate changes that occur with age, as well as warning signs of the most common prostate problems including infection (prostatitis) and enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH). Dr. Cho will also cover prostate cancer prevention and treatment, including brachytherapy.

Morris Hospital will offer free prostate screenings for men ages 50 to 70 who do not have prostate cancer and are free of symptoms. The screening includes a prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood test, as well as a digital rectal exam.

It is possible to stick to a heart healthy diet during the holiday season! Registered Dietitian Leigh Anne Hall will provide tips and techniques to help keep you on track.

Learn about the different types of cholesterol and what the numbers mean, as well as various ways to control cholesterol using lifestyle management and medications. Be sure to bring along your most recent cholesterol results. The program will be presented by Pat Cravens, RN, Cardiovascular Clinical Educator.

Designed for youths age 11 and older, this course can help babysitters: interview for a babysitting job, choose safe and age-appropriate toys and games, perform first aid, learn diapering and feeding techniques, handle bedtime issues, and learn tips for having a safe babysitting experience. Participants should bring a doll to class. Lunch is included.

The Cornfest 5K Run is a 3.1 mile USATF-certified course that starts and finishes at White Oak Elementary School in Morris. The course winds through residential neighborhoods and is the same for runners and walkers. The Tot Trot takes places on the field behind the school. Registration is from 7:00-8:45 a.m. The 5K Run and Wellness Walk begin at 9 a.m., and the Tot Trot begins at 9:45 a.m. All pre-registered entrants will receive a shirt; race day registrants will receive shirts while supplies last. Pre-race (received by September 18) fees are $20 for the 5K Run, $15 for the Wellness Walk, and $7 for the Tot Trot. No registration will be accepted at the hospital after September 18. Race day registration fees are $25 for the 5K Run, $20 for the Wellness Walk, and $7 for the Tot Trot. There will be no refunds. This American Cancer Society educational series is for people facing cancer – either personally, or as a friend or family caregiver. Classes are intended to help dispel cancer myths by presenting straightforward information and answers to cancer-related questions.

For women undergoing cancer treatment, this special program is designed to teach beauty techniques to help overcome the appearance-related side effects of chemotherapy and radiation treatment. Trained, volunteer cosmetologists teach women how to cope with skin changes and hair loss using cosmetics and skin care products donated by the cosmetic industry. Free cosmetic kits are provided to participants.
